CNN has an interesting read about Ben and Mena Trott of SixApart. The company name is derived from the fact that their birthdays are just six days apart. If I pursued this naming convention I'd end up with a company called 868 Apart, which lacks an aural ring and is excessive on the days side.
While the article is good, Mena's comments about it are better.
