NASA's twin rovers have been exploring the Martian surface for over a year now. They have exceeded their life expectancies, though dust collects on the solar panels and robs them of power.
There was some excitement when they were launched and landed successfully last January, but now I think only the guys at NASA keep up with it. Ours is a culture that focuses on the fleeting.
