They call him William

I often run into other dog owners when walking Fitzwilliam. It's actually a pretty decent way to socialize, and the dogs really enjoy meeting each other. The small talk usually centers around the dogs (what's his name, what kind is he, etc).

Twice now, after replying to so what's his name? the other person has gone "oh, hey there William". At first I just figured they were immediately giving him a nickname, like maybe Fitzwilliam surpassed some character limit. But once I started replaying the conversation I realized that they probably think I'm replying "It's-it's William".

I must look nervous.
