Enjoyed Paul Graham's latest essay today. Almost all of his essays are great, I guess that's why there's a book full of them.
Thanks to Nathan, I was able to watch Some Kind of Monster without having to buy or rent it. What I liked seeing the most was the process of something being created. You watch them come into the studio with nothing, and a long time later (about 2 years) they emerge with a record. It's like a software project. You have ideas, but they're worthless beyond the enjoyment and excitement they bring to you in your head. You prototype, you refactor. Things can be crude, you strive for beauty. You let pieces grow, let your friends work on them, trust them. Eventually you have something. I just like that process. Creation.
